The Whizzer story begins way back in 1939. The Breene-Taylor Engineering Corporation, a Los Angeles-based manufacturer of aircraft parts, introduced its first engine kit for a bicycle back then. They sold the engine kit, you supplied the bike!
During World War II – Whizzer was the only gasoline powered motorbike or motorcycle that was allowed to be sold to the American public as a transportation vehicle. The reason for this was its phenomenal fuel mileage (125 MPG!). In a land with rationed fuel – defense workers loved them.
In the intervening years since then, a motor bicycle was built around the engine, and the result is today's modern Whizzer. Available with electric start, an automatic Continuously Variable Transmission, CDI electronic ignition, and achieving an astonishing 110 miles per gallon (how's THAT for "green"?), the Whizzer is a great package of retro styling, modern technology, and more smiles per mile than anything else in its price range.
